West Coast & Canada Roadtrip!

Hi beautiful people!

I am back from one of the greatest trips ever (will i ever stop saying that haha?). Honestly it was an amazing 10 days away with my fiancé! It was a trip of a lifetime for both of us for so many reasons! It was also a celebration for us for this next season of life we are entering. Also a little pre-baecation before the official wedding planning begins!

So where did we go? We did San Francisco to Redwoods National Park to Portland to Banff National park to Yoho National Park to Vancouver to Seattle. We drove over 3000 miles in our rental on the coast and through the gorgeous mountains. This is a trip that we both have been dying to do for years and we got to cross off some major bucket list locations.

If you know me, you know I love San Fran. Everytime i go with my girlfriends, i am always telling Dan how one day i would love to come and show him around. We were so lucky to hop on a flight to San Francisco and spend a day there. I took him to my fav food spots and also the best views in the city. Can i just mention that the mission district has the best tacos in the world?!

We then drove up to Eureka where we stayed for the night so that we could be closer to Redwoods. Oh man oh man, this National park is BEAUTIFUL. I mean i can’t even explain how amazing it is. I knew the trees were big but I didn’t know that they were that BIG. The trees were mind blowing and the plants were beautiful. Honestly recommend this National park to EVERYONE. We did a short hike in the park and took about 273847374 pictures! So much beauty and I can’t wait to be back here.

From Redwoods, we drove into Portland, Oregon. Fun fact: Oregon is my 42nd state. I was always told how odd/cool Portland is and i couldn’t wait to see it for myself. It’s such a funky city, so much to see, eat, and do there! We got to try the infamous Voodoo doughnuts, they were the BOMB. We didn't get to see much because it was rainy. This is city is definitely on the “must come back list”

Portland to Banff was a LONG drive but a beautiful one nonetheless. The mountains and scenery just got better and better. Banff national park has been on the top of my list for years and i couldn’t believe we finally made it!! We got to stay in the COOLEST airbnb. The yurt was so cozy and the bathroom was even better. We had such a beautiful view and it was so nice turning on the fire pit every night before bed.

We did two awesome low elevation hikes (high alert for avalanches if you went up) and honestly the pictures just don’t do justice. We spent a day in the city of Banff which is really cool (reminds me of Jackson Hole or even Bar Harbor). We got to do another low elevation hike in Yoho National park. Jasper, Yoho, & Banff. All the national parks here connect but sadly Jasper was a bit out of the way for us so we WILL be back in the next year or so to do the high elevation hikes in the warmer weather

From Banff we drove all the way to Vancouver, another long drive. We got to walk around Gastown which has the first steam clock in the world. We worked out at our fav place ever, Orangetheory. Can we just talk about how we have become those people who enjoy working out on vacation? Anyways, we had the best tacos once again at La Taqueira Pinche Taco Shop. Totally recommend this place if you’re in Vancouver. The drive from Vancouver to Whistler is gorgeous! Our Airbnb was up there because we wanted to do a hike at Garibaldi but the rain ruined that. Another thing to take into consideration is that it rains A TON on the west coast.

Vancouver to our final destination, Seattle. AHH! I have been dying to visit this city for years let me tell you. I was so happy to spend 3 days here. I couldn’t believe we were finally here. We got to hang out at Pike place market, eat TONS of yummy food, and walk up and down the hill roads of Seattle! Also recommend the Pink Door for dinner. It’s such a fun hidden spot! It is such a beautiful city with so much to do. I can’t wait to be back to hike the national parks in the area!

Now that vacation is really over, it is wedding planning time! So excited for everything happening over the next few months. There are so many exciting things happening and i can’t wait to share with you all! Sadly my next trip planned isn’t until Christmas but a few smaller trips are in the works, you know i can’t go to long without going somewhere ;)
