NJ Best Diner| Brunch | Short Week

Happy Rainy Monday everyone ! How was everyone's weekend? I had a pretty exciting/relaxing weekend. I was able to hang out with my boyfriend and best friends, work, and just have fun. I have a short week coming up since i leave for a small getaway this Thursday ! I am so excited and i can't wait to write about when i get back on Monday.

So my boyfriend and i have this thing for diners and going to different ones all over NJ and trying different foods they have to offer ( we have our own rating system haha). Friday night i was craving breakfast for dinner and decided it was time to try NJ's voted best diner.

So we drove down to Keyport, New Jersey where Broad Street diner was and got us a table. There was lots to try on the menu and of course we asked for recommendations. I had the most delicious breakfast ever, the Keyport Bowl. It was a bowl filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage,  and home fries. SO AMAZING and also a bit of the heartburn afterwards but so worth it. Sadly i forgot to take a picture of the food but i did get to snap a picture of the lighthouse outside the diner (because i have a weird obsession with  lighthouses).

Saturday morning was a bit of a bummer since i had plans with my best friend to do something outdoorsy but the rain ruined it ! So we decided to get some shopping and gym time in. Danny had told me earlier to be ready to go somewhere at 2 ( a bit of a surprise since he isn't that great at planning and picking place so i was pretty excited he had something in mind). He took me to an outdoor BBQ food competition and food truck festival in Rahway. AMAZING. For those who love food festivals, check out Rahways' town cite because they have so many of them in this town !

First picture on the left is this delicious pulled pork sandwhich with a side of cole slaw ( it was incredible). Bottom picture was pierogis ! Ugh so delicious and i had to get them since Danny has never had them. For those who don't know what they are, their an european style dumpling ( must try). Second top picture is a waffle with nutella, cookie butter, bananas, whip cream and flakes on top. Probably the best waffle dessert ever made. And last but not least, the huge piece of bbq chicken which was also the most amazing chicken i have ever eaten.

My Sunday was even better ! I got to hang out with my best friend since forever, my pastry chef Aileen. Every time we hang out, we spend out time exploring the beautiful city and eating new things. We spent the day having an amazing brunch on the lower east side at this hotel called Hotel Chantelle. It was so great and super cute place. The food was so delicious and the drinks were GREAT! I mean you can never go wrong with 98 cent prosecco drinks and mimosas. I love that there was live music playing and how great the staff and food was. Did i mention this place is a rooftop? During warmer weather they open up the roof and you can see some of the beautiful city including the Williamsburg Bridge.

It was a perfect ending of a great weekend. The next four days consists of tons of homework, gym, work, and packing. I cant wait to share with you all next week about my exciting 4 day weekend i have coming up ahead ! Hope everyone has a great week :)
