My 44th State || Cincinnati Recap

Hey everyone!

What the heck is there to do in Ohio & Kentucky?! My thoughts exactly before i spent the weekend there. I got to spend some time away with my fiancé in Cincinnati, Ohio & northern Kentucky! Ok so for those wondering what the heck i was doing in Ohio, i met my pilot in Cincy for his long lay over. When he first asked me to go, i literally said can’t you pick a cooler place to meet? So for those who are clueless on what to do, see, and eat there, I put together a small list of things to do in Cincinnati in less than 36 hours!   Heads up, you don’t need a rental car to walk around or to cross over into Kentucky.

Over the Rhine

A German neighborhood in Cincinnati with the coolest restaurants, bars, buildings, & shops! We pretty much spent the whole day here hitting up the shops and breweries. Here are of a few of my fav places!

Holtsman Donut Shop

Amazing donut shop in this neighborhood. My fiancé worships this place and always brings them home. They are AMAZING & so fresh. They get so creative with the donuts and they even have vegan. You can see the bakers making the donuts as you wait in line. Head here first thing in the morning because these donuts do not last!

Taste of Belgium

Amazing food and ambience. It’s Belgic food with an American twist so think crepes & waffles with a sweet and savory spin too it. Plus great beers & just such an awesome vibe there. I totally recommend their savory crepes.

Rhinegeist Brewery

Okay i have been to quite a few breweries all around the US and this one hits one of my top 3 favorites! Their taproom is located in a historic old bottling warehouse. There is 3 bars to grab a beer in this warehouse. The rooftop, the taproom, and the second bar all served the same and some different beers! It was huge and spacious with music playing, corn hole games, parties, and beer everywhere. Their tap room has 28 beers on tap ranging from IPAs to Ciders to Pilsners to Lagers & so many more.

Smale Riverfront Park

A beautiful park fright on the Ohio River between Ohio and Kentucky! My fiancé had sent me pictures before and i just had to see it for myself. It’s such a gorgeous area to walk around and just take in the beauty. It’s so close to the Browns Stadium & also the Reds stadium. Tons of restaurants in this area as well!

Walk Across the John. A Roebling Suspensión bridge

This bridge is so beautiful! It connects Ohio and Kentucky and you get to walk across it! It’s so beautiful especially when your walking on the waterfront!

Kentucky

My 44th state! Never thought I’d actually go to Kentucky because who the heck goes there for fun?! Haha but actually Convington was a pretty cool town. Tons of German food & bars in this little picturesque town. You can get some amazing Mexican food at Frida 602. Such a cute restaurant with amazing margaritas. Across the street is Goodfellas pizza which is also pretty amazing!
